IWD – Interview Series 2021 – Michelle Peters

One such success story is that of Michelle Peters, A supply chain geek, new capabilities builder and an international talent developer.

Experienced Head Of Operations/Supply Chain Strategy with a demonstrated history of working in diverse industries and models. Strong consulting professional skilled in Operations Management, Warehouse Operations, Management, Continuous Improvement, and Supply Management.

Your Journey?

A passion for how things are made led me to an engineering degree and a career in manufacturing and supply chain. I was able to travel, meet fabulous people, and develop new teams and capabilities for companies both small and large. When the chance came up to work overseas, I jumped at it and spend ten years in Germany – which I absolutely loved. Now in my 50’s I am leading a startup – something I have always wanted to do.

What inspired you to do what you are currently doing?

I am fascinated by the process of creating new ideas and implementing them successfully. I now do this myself by founding and running my company Supplino. And we help others do it by managing their product supply, so their exciting products have high quality and succeed beyond launch. There are so many products with poor quality sitting in landfills and unsold in discount stores – it is inspiring for me to work with Founders with great products, built well, that customers can enjoy and appreciate.

5 Women leaders who inspire you & why?

I am inspired by women who lead with conviction and confidence. As leaders, Angela Merkel, Madeleine Albright, Belen Garijo (CEO of Merck KGaA), even Dolly Parton all come to mind as women who know what they stand for and lead by example.

What's your international Women's Day message?

The world needs more women leaders, be an active part of making that happen.
