Having been Edelman’s Chief Human Resources Officer for almost three years, Nigel returned to his roots recently — helping clients on topics ranging from employee experience and engagement to employer branding, change management, and internal communication.   

Nigel worked for almost a decade at international communications consulting firms Hill and Knowlton and Weber Shandwick Worldwide before going client-side with Labatt Breweries of Canada and then the company’s parent, Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABI). He moved with his family to ABI’s headquarters in Belgium in 2004 to establish a global employee engagement and talent management function for the company’s parents.  In 2009, he went on to become VP Human Resources at the UK-based Coca Cola European Partners, helping to guide the firm’s employees through a period of unprecedented change, before joining Edelman in 2014.  On both the client and agency side, Nigel’s priorities have always come to back informing, engaging, and ultimately mobilizing employees, particularly during times of change.   

Nigel is an international relations graduate from the University of Toronto.  Among his charitable commitments, he has served for several years as Vice-Chair of the London-based Canada-UK Foundation, whose mission is to foster a greater understanding of Canada in the UK through education.
